Keith Hackett, M.A., D.Min.

Education, training and experience:

Keith is a Pastoral Counselor and Marriage and Family therapist who has been doing pastoral counseling since 1970 and full time since 1980. He and his wife Joan are trained and certified Marriage Enrichment leaders. He is a Diplomate of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

He received a B.D. Degree from London University, England and an M.A. in Pastoral Psychology from San Francisco Theological Seminary. He has a D.Min. in Pastoral Counseling from Graduate Theological Foundation, Indiana. He was trained in marriage counseling at the Marriage Guidance Council in England and did a three year internship and residency in pastoral counseling at the School of Pastoral Care North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

He is licensed as provided by law with the Division of Professional Licensing, WA as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, License LHOOOO4026 and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, License LFOOOO1437, and by the Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists of the State of Oregon as a Marriage and Family Therapist #TO277. Keith is also qualified to provide supervision and consultation to other counselors and clergy. He attends a number of continuing education events each year and will meet the continuing education requirements of Washington, Oregon licensure, and A.A.P.C..



Theoretical orientation and approach to counseling:

Keith is skilled in individual, couple and group therapy and uses a variety of approaches, including but not limited to psychodynamic, gestalt, TA, systems, learning theory cognitive, pastoral and spiritual. His approach to counseling will vary according to the needs of the particular clients.
